SARANG NANDURKAR

I am Sarang Nandurkar, a 22-year-old Textile Artist. Having spent the past four years at Sir J.J. School of Art, I have been learning and experimenting with art and textiles. My work is based on personal narratives and emotions cultivated over recent years, which I express through textiles using traditional techniques of weaving, dyeing, and printing. I am particularly drawn to the fusion of traditional textile techniques with contemporary design sensibilities, which I believe offers a unique visual language to my thoughts and compositions. In my recent works, I have experimented with weaving more than ever before. Blending various complex weaving techniques together has been central to my practice. Working on ideas born from these experiments, learning new techniques, and collaborating hands-on with artisans are some of the things I look forward to in the coming years.
