GEETANJALI BAYAN

Geetanjali Bayan, from Guwahati, Assam, completed her bachelor's degree at the Government College of Art and Craft in Guwahati and is currently pursuing her master's degree at Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. In her art practice, she extensively explored traditional methods during her bachelor's studies and now experiments with threads and rope, primarily focusing on knitting and stitching techniques. Her materials are predominantly influenced by Assamese culture. Geetanjali's inspiration stems from her mother, whose knitting and stitching she observed since childhood, deepening the connection between her, her mother, and their culture, symbolised by the threads they weave together.
