LENTICULAR ART
Lenticular art is a form of art that creates images with an illusion of depth or motion when viewed from different angles.
The Key Features of Lenticular Art are as follows:
Depth Perception: The art can create a three-dimensional effect, making flat images appear to have depth.
Motion: Some lenticular prints give the illusion of motion, where parts of the image seem to move or change as the viewing angle changes.
Multiple Images: These artworks can display multiple images in a sequence, similar to an animation flipbook, where the image changes when viewed from different angles.
Kalastrot takes great pride in collaborating with the esteemed artist Vijay Raut who is a professional artist, animator and film maker, with an experience of more than 30 years. He runs The College of Animation Engineering and Research Center in Amravati, Maharashtra. He served as a President of “The Bombay Art Society”, Mumbai and has been awarded with many national and International awards for his work.
Artist Vijay Raut prints the artwork on a special plastic sheet that has numerous tiny lenses (lenticels). These lenses direct light from different images to different viewing angles. He uses a software to slice and interlace images according to lens specifications. Then he prints a High-resolution image on a lenticular lens sheet. And then he aligns and laminates the printed sheet with lenticular lenses.
Overall, lenticular art is a fascinating fusion of technology and creativity, providing dynamic and interactive visual experiences.
